How much Annual Leave do I get?
Annual Leave or Holiday Pay is accrued and can be taken from when you commence an assignment with Hudson. Temps accrue 20 days of annual leave per completed year of service (pro-rated based on the actual hours worked). Hudson allows leave to be taken in advance so you can see your available Annual Leave balance in the Hudson Contractor Zone and can avail of paid annual leave even if you haven’t completed 12 months yet.
How do I take Annual Leave?
Before you submit leave, please ensure you have spoken to your manager so they can make alternative arrangements during your absence. Leave needs to be submitted through the Contractor Zone. You can submit this on your timesheet if you are working as well as taking leave in the same week:
Or you can submit a leave request if you are taking a block of time off through the Leave section:
My assignment is about to finish, how do I get my Holiday Pay?
As a Hudson employee, leave is accrued and is to be taken as paid leave unless you wish to terminate your employment. If your current assignment is coming to an end, your Annual Leave or Holiday Pay will not be paid out as you are still considered an active employee with Hudson and hope that we can assist with continuing the relationship by placing you in a new assignment.
If you wish to avail of leave whilst you are not in an assignment, unfortunately you will not be able to submit this through the Contractor Zone so please contact us at support@hudson.com and we can assist with arranging your leave pay.
If you wish to terminate your employment with Hudson, please send this advice in writing to support@hudson.com and we can organise for your final pay to be processed in the next available pay cycle. Please note that terminating your employment will mean a cessation of service so in the event that you take up a new assignment in future, you will be re-employed at that date and any leave entitlements will reset (i.e. sick leave will not be available until you complete 6 months service from your new employment date).
What leave entitlements are included in my Final Pay?
You will be paid for unused annual leave and alternative holidays that you have built up but have not used. How much you’ll be paid out depends on how long you’ve been working for Hudson.
If you’ve been working for:
- less than 12 months, you’ll be paid out at 8% of your Gross earnings (Holiday Pay) minus any leave taken in advance
- at least 12 months, you’ll be paid out any Annual Leave entitlements (leave accrued on completed years of service) plus Holiday pay on earnings since your last anniversary minus any leave taken since your commencement date.
Please note that your available Annual Leave balance as shown on the Contractor Zone is not what is paid out on termination. The amount of hours displayed is for the purpose of tracking leave that is available for you to take while you are working but as per above, there is a distinction between Annual Leave entitlement and Holiday Pay which is calculated separately.
